Story 26 (Completion)

"Story 26", Acrylic On Canvas, 122cm x 122cm, Year: 2011.

Story 26 (Step 7)

"Story 26", Acrylic On Canvas, 122cm x 122cm, Year: 2011.

At last, I painted my pastor friend on the top-right area, holding a Chinese Bible - this friend of mine used to study at the same college as me, but in the final year he decided to quit school and serve in church... A very warm-hearted friend!  God blesses him, as he is now a father of two children.  Meanwhile, I also decided to input some words on the right blank space below...

Story 26 (Step 6)

"Story 26", Acrylic On Canvas, 122cm x 122cm, Year: 2011.

Now, a few more church friends have appeared at the left bottom: they are one couple, one single lady and one new mum! Hahaha! Another two secondary classmates are also painted on the top left side under the wing: both of them are two years older than me because they are "stay-back" students (Sigh, my secondary school was not a good school in Singapore during the old school days).

At last, I also highlighted my wing, making it look more real and clearer a bit. :-)

Story 26 (Step 5)

"Story 26", Acrylic On Canvas, 122cm x 122cm, Year: 2011.

Today late afternoon, I started to paint my primary school graduation photo (on the left below). Whilst I was painting, I kept counting the people's numbers and names, to make sure I did not leave anyone out.  Unfortunately, all of them (except for one) never got in touch with me anymore...  What a shame!

I also painted another Caucasian friend who now lives in  London (at the right corner); we have not written to each other for years, because we have different views in certain subjects...  So I guess no chance to see him again.

Story 26 (Step 4)

"Story 26", Acrylic On Canvas, 122cm x 122cm, Year: 2011.

The right decision I had made was to input Jesus' image at the bottom of the painting; it matched really well with my self-portrait a lot. Besides, I was also half-done painting my close friend (the person wearing orange-colour shirt, right above Jesus).  We both meet up at least once a week for manga course, and sometimes also watch movie together.  In this early April, we plan to go Bangkok together.  Hahaha! I wonder, after my Bangkok trip, if I may still have the chance to go overseas within these 4, 5 years?  As I will need to take care of my coming new-born baby girl... :-)

Story 26 (Step 3)

"Story 26", Acrylic On Canvas, 122cm x 122cm, Year: 2011.

Now I input three con friends (as they used to cheated my $) in my painting: they are in grey colour and their faces are being 'cut out' from my painting (no longer are my friends).

On the extreme right, I had painted a man and a teenage girl (my publication company boss and his daughter) in colour; almost every week, I go to meet this man for new illustration projects, and occasionally, I also get to meet his adorable daughter.

In the centre, I added in another lady (who is already married to a  American Chinese husband), but we have lost touch with one another for years. We used to go for quite a number of movies.

Along the way, I called up some of my friends to ask permission whether I could put them in my painting or not.  Of course some of them refused but some were quite happy about it! :-)

Story 26 (Step 2)

"Story 26", Acrylic On Canvas, 122cm x 122cm, Year: 2011.

Now I have painted my art dealer (the man wearing a light blue T-shirt), a clinic assistant friend (the lady holding a packet of pills) and a church friend (the long-hair lady in the group photo) in colour, suggesting they are my friends who are still in touch with me.

On the other hand, those who are painted in black, grey and white colours, are friends whom I have lost touch for quite some time already - "not-updated friends."

In the painting, the ruler I am holding supposedly "measures" the distance between me and my friends.

Story 26 (Step 1)

"Story 26", Acrylic On Canvas, 122cm x 122cm, Year: 2011.

Now I have come to Story 26.  Haha, really fast!  This time, the theme is called, "Hungry For Friends"!

First, I painted myself - with my right-hand holding a pencil, while my left-hand holding a ruler - to 'measure' every single friend's character who comes across my life-path.  At the same time, one can also see my body wounded by some arrows (suggesting hurts caused by some friendships)...

Note: In art school, we sometimes use a pencil to measure the object that we want to draw, eg. apple, bottle, pot and others.

Story 25 (Completion)

"Story 25", Acrylic On Canvas, 122cm x 122cm, Year: 2011.

Now I have come to the end of the painting.  Finally, Jesus' face appears on the top of the painting, enjoying Bible-reading with me...  By the way, I love Bible the most!

Course 2 part 1 project 2: New Storyboard Character Design - Romeo

"Romeo", Ink & Marker On A3 Paper, Year: 2011.

My friend was sitting beside me whilst I was creating this image, and he said, "The most creepy thing is that - you actually can create this kind of images so naturally!"

I was stunned!

Note: "Romeo" is a living dead, and his right hand is broken.

Story 25 (Step 7)

"Story 25", Acrylic On Canvas, 122cm x 122cm, Year: 2011.

What a tired day today! Hahahaha! Never did much! Only outlined some images at the top area and input some colours on them; at the same time, deep in my mind, I kept thinking of my course project: window display...  I had to get it done as soon as possible, or else I might not be able to earn another 2 credits for my interior design course...

Hehe! Of course, I will be spending more time praying in tongues for my worries... :-)

Note: Talking about books, now I am reading two books - one is: "Special Police Force" and the other is: "PARADOX 13".
