The Stage Series

"Testing", Acrylic On Canvas, 76 cm x 101.5 cm, 2008.

“The Stage” series mainly portrays the artist’s perception of life as a stage: that every human being is a character, while God is the ultimate main audience. In daily life, every decision or action we make, regardless of right or wrong, may be watched by people around us – family, friends, and even strangers – but they may not be able to understand our story/situation objectively. The decisions we make are often influenced by previous experiences, and what happens in future is also related to our decisions made today… Therefore, I doubt if there is really someone who sees the whole picture and fully understands? I believe there is only one – God! Eventually, I regard God as the only audience in the Stage of Life, not people…; if we live our lives subject to others’ opinions, we will be weary… because they do not understand us like God does.
